Meet Dr. Heather Perez

Dr. Heather Perez is thrilled to be a part of the Hammock Bay Dental team, bringing her passion for both people and dentistry to the heart of this vibrant community. Since moving to Hammock Bay in 2008, Dr. Perez has witnessed firsthand the neighborhood’s remarkable growth and is proud to serve the families who call it home.

Dr. Perez began her professional journey at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. For seven years, she inspired young minds as a 1st and 2nd grade teacher before discovering her true calling in dentistry. She completed her science prerequisites at the University of West Florida in Pensacola and went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville.

While some may see the transition from teaching to dentistry as a leap, Dr. Perez believes the two fields share much in common. She crafts individualized treatment plans with the same care she once devoted to lesson plans, and she continues to educate—now focusing on oral health. Her approach is rooted in flexibility, empathy, and trust. Dentistry, she says, even allows her to indulge her love for hands-on creativity: “I’m an artist at heart, sculpting and recreating beautiful, functional smiles!”

Dr. Perez is deeply passionate about making a positive impact through dentistry. She finds it incredibly rewarding to relieve pain, restore confidence, and help patients overcome dental fears—often hearing from new and even final smile-again patients after years of hiding. Dr. Perez values the unique stories and journeys of every patient, and strives to make them feel at home as they achieve their oral health goals in a comfortable, supportive environment.
