Hailing from Houston, TX, Dr. Marcantel kicked off her dental journey in high school, earning her dental assisting certificate while still navigating teenage life. She got her start at Bering Omega, a nonprofit in the vibrant Montrose community, where she learned that dentistry is more than fixing teeth—it’s about empathy, skill, and stepping up to make a real impact.

Dr. Marcantel stormed the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston, graduating with a Bachelor’s in dental hygiene and clinching the “Outstanding Dental Hygiene Student of Texas” award. Her first role as a hygienist was at Bellaire Cosmetic and Family Dental, where, mentored by Dr. Chen, she realized trust is the key to great dentistry.

Helping patients ditch their fears for confident, healthy smiles? That’s her superpower! Driven to do more, she balanced post-baccalaureate courses and a gig as a Dental Hygiene Clinical Assistant Faculty while moonlighting as a hygienist during holidays and summer breaks. She then earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from UT Houston, racking up honors like the “Colgate’s Nuestros Niños Award” and the “Ninth District Dental Society Professional Collegiality Award.” It’s just another day being a dental superstar!

Now, at Hammock Bay Dental, Dr. Marcantel lives in the very community she serves. “I love working where I live,” she says, “because I’m not just treating patients—I’m caring for my friends, family, and neighbors!” She’s also a passionate organizer of events like Give Kids a Smile, where she and her team provide dental care to over 200 kids, spreading joy and healthy grins galore.

The Personal Side

When she’s not crafting perfect smiles, Dr. Marcantel cherishes strolling through Hammock Bay with her husband and young daughter, Sophia Rose, soaking in the community’s warmth. She’s a proud member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, American Academy of Clear Aligners, American Orthodontic Society, and her dental school alma mater.
